Sara Lovell Bio for
"You’ve Got Me"

Furry alligator puppies, run-away socks, musical skeletons and flying ships are just a few of the wonders you’ll encounter in Sara Lovell’s fanciful world of songs for children and families.  With her album “You’ve Got Me,” it is apparent that Sara is not so much singing to children as she is reporting back with love from a magical landscape she inhabits.  Whether she is vividly painting an alternate universe or simply describing everyday moments in life, Sara's authenticity never underestimates her audience, instead, it invites both kids and their parents to dream and play along with her. The lyrics move easily between whimsical and matter-of-fact, and are set to music that is at once sophisticated and immediately accessible.

A songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer with a wide-ranging musical palette and four critically praised CDs to her credit, Sara Lovell moved to Berkeley from Los Angeles several years ago with a desire to create a permanent home and become a parent.  She's now a full-time, single mom of an imaginative just turned seven-year-old who loves to paint his face and dance in front of the mirror.  Sara finds time to write and record songs in every nook and cranny that her life as a parent allows.
